Car Pooling
Car pooling involves the shared use of a car to transport people to a location. So, instead of four people driving on their own in separate cars into Darwin, for example, from the Northern Suburbs, you could have one car take everyone to work.
Car pooling does take some organisation. Pick up points need to be arranged and a fair cost agreed on if one person's vehicle is used. It is a form of smart travelling that will not suit everyone, but can perhaps be used on certain days of the week when other activities and commitments allow.
Car pooling is great way to get to know your workmates better. Get together with others in your workplace or neighborhood who are interested in the concept. Work out where people want to go and try to group those trips together.
Even one day a week will make a difference.
